Welcome to the Rural Pastor Cohort!
We pray the resources on this page will be used to encourage and equip the pastors in your cohort!
Leading Your Cohort
If at all possible, we encourage cohorts to meet in-person once monthly for a time of fellowship and encouraging. We recommend setting aside an hour and a half for the meeting:
30 minutes - Meal and Fellowship
60 minutes - Cohort video and discussion
Step 1: Download the Materials
Below, you'll find the download link for the manual. Each session has a few pages to read, resources for the meeting (podcasts, blog posts, etc.) and additional resources for pastors to use to further their own growth.
Step 2: Plan the Meeting
Set the day and time for the monthly meetings. If at all possible, we encourage you to meet in person. If not, digital options (Zoom, Teams, etc) will work. As much as possible, try to be consistent with your monthly meetings. You may not be able to have everyone in every session, but we suggest keeping the same meeting time each month. We also suggest having groups between 5-15 attendees. This provides enough people so that if one or two are out, you still have a group to meet with, but not so large that discussion is hindered.
Step 3: Prepare the Space
If you're providing a meal, plan ahead for the meals. Consider the meeting space (will you use tables, or have the attendees sit in a circle)?
Each of the sessions has a short ( around 10 minutes) video that supplements the reading. Plan to have a projector or television for the video.
